  • About The Role

  • We are looking for a senior talented and experienced Internal Communications Manager to strengthen and evolve our global internal communications approach. You’ll work closely with the Group Brand & Communications Director, Chief Marketing Officer and regional marketing teams to ensure colleagues around the world are informed, engaged and aligned with our business strategy and values.

As part of our Group Marketing & Communications team, you will play a key role in setting clear direction, frameworks and standards for internal communications globally, while enabling and supporting regional marketing teams to adapt and activate communications effectively in their markets.

Working closely with senior stakeholders globally, including the CEO, board members, global sector leads and regional leadership, you will drive clarity, alignment and engagement across the business. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery of priority global campaigns.

Strong stakeholder management (including C-suite) and exceptional copywriting skills are therefore essential. You will translate complex commercial and operational information into clear, compelling communications for audiences across regions, while building capability and consistency across our global communications network.

    Key Responsibilities

    Internal Communications Strategy & Delivery

    • Assess, develop and evolve our current internal communications approach, channels and strategy to improve engagement and impact across all regions.
    • Define clear objectives and success measures for internal communications and employee engagement, embedding a more insight-led and performance-driven approach.
    • Establish clear frameworks, planning processes and success measures to bring greater structure and consistency to internal communications globally – enabling and supporting our regional marketing teams to deliver effectively.
    • Act as an internal communications centre of excellence. Work with our regional marketing teams to ensure all communications are consistent, clear and aligned with Currie & Brown’s tone of voice, brand positioning and business priorities.
    • Lead the delivery of priority global communications activity, from planning and messaging to execution and evaluation.

      Stakeholder Engagement & Management

    • Act as a trusted partner to leaders across the business, advising on strategic approaches to internal communications, developing plans that align with priorities, and updating on progress and campaign performance.
    • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across the board, senior leadership team, global sector leads, people team and regional marketing teams to ensure joined-up communications.
    • Influence and challenge constructively to improve clarity and impact of messaging.

      Regional Marketing Support

    • Provide practical guidance, templates and messaging frameworks to enable regional marketing teams to adapt and activate campaigns effectively.
    • Collaborate with regions on their local campaigns, offering strategic input and support where needed.
    • Coach and support regional teams to raise editorial standards and campaign effectiveness.
    • Encourage best-practice sharing across regions to improve overall performance.

      Copywriting & Content Creation

    • Produce high-quality, engaging written content across internal channels, including: leadership communications, intranet articles, emails, webinar scripts, case studies and campaign materials.
    • Translate technical, commercial and operational information into accessible and engaging copy that resonates with diverse audiences.
    • Maintain high editorial standards, consistently adopting our brand tone-of-voice to bring our brand essence – the Value of Certainty – to life, and ensure accuracy of content.

      Channels & Engagement

    • Manage, evaluate and optimise internal communication channels (e.g. intranet, email campaigns, webinars and internal events) to improve reach, usability and engagement – at the group and regional level. This might include exploring and introducing new channels.
    • Introduce and maintain structured forward planning to ensure consistent approach and alignment with business priorities.
    • Support the continued development of two-way engagement across channels, encouraging interaction and feedback.

      Measurement & Insight

    • Use data and feedback to assess campaign performance and recommend improvements.
    • Provide clear reporting and actionable insight to senior stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve our internal communications approach and increase employee engagement in line with business needs.

      Skills & Experience

      Essential

    • Significant experience in an internal communications-focused role within a B2B organisation, ideally within a professional services, consultancy or matrixed global environment.
    • Demonstrable experience reviewing, evolving and improving internal communications strategies, channels and engagement approaches.
    • Experience advising and influencing senior leaders, shaping messaging for strategic priorities and organisational change.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate confidently in a matrixed organisation and build alignment across regions.
    • Experience enabling and supporting regional or local teams, providing frameworks, guidance and practical coaching.
    • Exceptional copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling communications.
    • Familiarity with intranet platforms and digital communications tools. In particular, experience navigating and managing SharePoint.
    • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

      Qualifications

    • Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Ongoing professional development in communications, employee engagement or change communication (desirable).

    • Experience in the construction, infrastructure or built environment sectors.
    • Experience working in a global or multi-regional organisation.
