  • About The Role

  • In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing all direct construction costs with trade contractors on multi-million-dollar construction projects. Advising clients and manage services in capital planning, project delivery strategy and execution planning, capital cost and operations cost estimating, value engineering services, planning and scheduling controls, contract pricing formats, procurement management, bid evaluation and documentation, contract administration, comprehensive cost management, and risk assessment.

    Specific job duties include the following:

    • Develop and maintain budget and track project costs throughout the life of projects
    • Cost estimating through various design stages using past experience, historical data and parametric ratios
    • Change management, estimate impacts of changes and contingency drawdown
    • Monthly cost reporting and budget reconciliation
    • Develop risk register and track impacts
    • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
    • Undertake payment recommendations and review contractor / consultant invoices; Develop cost bucketing (WBS) and cost breakdowns
    • Support client account management
    • Communicate details effectively to internal and external stakeholders including presentation
    • Establish new and maintain existing project controls tools

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
    • 3 years of experience in a related position.

    Work Experience must have included:

    • Providing advice on complex construction activity sequencing, understanding when to escalate matters to superiors;
    • Producing and compiling accurate and unbiased cost forecasts at a detailed & summary level
    • Supporting client account management with monthly invoicing, purchase order management and reviewing contractual terms
    • Supporting change order and claims review, including review and recommendation of entitlements in accordance with the contractual terms & conditions;
    • Experience with cost forecasting and cost control, managing contingencies and reporting to stakeholders
    • Experience monitoring cost performance to discover and understand variances from the budget.
    • Domestic travel required monthly to client sites for verification of construction in place on assigned projects.
