  • Senior Cost Consultant

    Location: Manchester

    Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to join our Manchester office. You will support project leaders in delivering high-quality cost advice and services across a variety of projects, including large commercial new builds, private residential, towers, and national government frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to client success, share knowledge across projects, and reinforce our reputation as a preferred service provider.

    About the Role

    In this role, you will provide expert cost consultancy services, support project delivery, and play a key part in commercial management activities. You will work collaboratively with project teams, ensuring accurate reporting, financial control, and high standards of client service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide accurate cost advice and reporting to clients
    • Deliver projects, commissions, and professional assignments from inception to completion
    • Support commercial management activities with minimal supervision
    • Assist team leaders in project cost management and reporting
    • Maintain clear communication across project teams and with clients
    • Ensure all project outputs are delivered accurately and on time
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients through meetings, correspondence, and negotiations
    • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across projects

    What We’re Looking For

    • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
    • Chartered membership (MRICS)
    • Experience in healthcare, commercial fit-out, or private commercial sectors (offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit-out/refurbishment)
    • Pre- and post-contract experience, including contract administration
    • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in CostX or similar cost planning software
    • Skills in sustainability and data analysis (e.g., carbon assessment, Power BI)
    • Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
    • Well-organised, proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple priorities
    • Positive team player with a professional, flexible, and ‘can-do’ attitude
