Currie & Brown are looking for a BMS Engineer to join our team in Singapore, working with a key client on hospitality projects.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
The BMS Engineer with Niagara expertise is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining building management systems (BMS) using the Niagara Framework. This role requires in-depth knowledge of BMS systems, HVAC, lighting, energy management, and the ability to program and troubleshoot using Niagara software. The engineer will work closely with contractors, and other technical teams to ensure the optimal performance of building systems and enhance energy efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
1.Installation, Configuration and Commissioning
• Set up, configure, and commission BMS equipment, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and other building systems.
• Conduct testing and ensure system functionality aligns with design specifications.
• Implement the Niagara Framework for control and monitoring systems within buildings.
2.Programming and Customization
•Develop and program applications using the Niagara Framework (Niagara 4 and future versions)
•Customize and optimize BMS programs to meet specific operational needs.
3.System Troubleshooting and Support
•Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the BMS, including software, hardware, and integration problems.
•Provide technical support for ongoing maintenance.
4.System Monitoring and Optimization
•Continuously monitor the performance of HVAC, lighting, and other building systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and effectively.
5.Documentation & Reporting:
•Prepare detailed system documentation, including design layouts, wiring diagrams, and configuration files.
•Maintain logs of maintenance activities, system performance reports, and project timelines.
6.Project Management:
•Assist manager to plan and manage BMS projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
•Develop project schedules, define project scope, allocate resources, and set milestones.
•Monitor project progress and report on status, addressing potential issues or delays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certification
•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
•Minimum 5 years of experience working with BMS systems and the Niagara Framework.
•Previous experience in building automation, HVAC, lighting controls, or energy management is a plus.
Experience & Competency
•Proficiency in the Niagara Framework (Niagara 4).
•Familiarity with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and KNX.
•Strong understanding of HVAC systems, lighting controls, and energy management.
•Knowledge of databases, SQL, and networking.
•Strong understanding of HVAC systems, lighting controls, and energy management.
•Ability to program in JACE (Java Application Control Engine) and other Niagara-based platforms.
Certifications:
•Niagara Certified Engineer (TCP) or similar certification is highly preferred.
•Other relevant certifications in building automation or controls.
Soft Skills:
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Excellent communication skills for dealing with clients and team members.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
•Ability to work in building environments, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces as required.
•Ability to carry and install equipment as necessary.
